“Absolutely fantastic experience”

We arrived at Yen Duc village the day before our trip to Halong Bay. We had told our kids we were staying in a local village and not to expect anything flash. However on arrival at the accommodation we were blown away. It was stunning! From the moment we stepped in till way after we checked out, our guide made sure we were taken care of at every step of the way. Gi was truly outstanding, with excellent English, she answered all of our questions. and sense of humour.

Our children loved riding bicycle in the village, catching fishes, handcraft activity and visiting different houses. It was a great experience where we can have a feeling of the local life.
Thank you Yen Duc and Gi. We learnt so much about Vietnamese culture in those 24 hours and had lots of happy memories.

“An amazing experience ”

We visited Yen Duc after coming back from Halong Bay and our guide Gi was helpful in ensuring we had a smooth pick up. She was friendly and patient and took the time to explain local culture and showed us around.

We took a 2D1N tour with a stay at the Viet House and the rooms were nice and comfortable with air conditioning and most of the amenities that you would find at a hotel.

The itinerary was interesting as it was very hands on and you also get to interact with the locals. Food was also great and each meal came with at least 6-8 dishes.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who’s looking for something out of the usual touristy things to do.

“A welcome glimpse into village life”

a-weldoc

My family had a wonderful time in Yen Duc village. We only decided on the morning of the Bai Tu Long Bay cruise to book the tour and we’re so glad we did.
This experience was perfect for opening the eyes of a five and seven year old to Vietnamese village life.
We all had a great time doing the activities, especially the fishing (popular with our son) and the broom making (daughter’s favourite). Exploring the village and surrounding fields on bikes was great fun too.
The highlight though was the time we spent sharing delicious meals and discussing our respective cultures with our guide Gi, chef Hien and of course our home stay host Mr San. All made us feel incredibly welcome. If you like a rice wine or two, Mr San will love your drinking companionship! And the hardworking Gi was a super guide, open and honest about life in Yen Duc…she was also very kind to our kids spoiling them with a few experiences that were definitely not on the tour itinerary. 🙂
We strongly recommend this experience to complement the hustle and bustle of big city Vietnam. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, much more familiar with the culture and perhaps, like our kids, pleading to stay on longer.

“Amazing Experience!! Don’t miss this!”

Yen Duc Village was incredible! Gi is such an amazing tour guide and takes you to historical places ou can’t see anywhere else. I highly recommend riding the bikes they provide everywhere to get a sense of the village, and the broom making activity is dope! They provide you with 5-10 course meals too! We had to beg them to stop bringing out food we were so full! We met such cool people while we were there and had an experience you can’t get in the big cities.

“Great adventure”

We visited the village on a slightly wet day but that didn’t dampen the experience as we cycled about enjoying the country life. Visit the orchard to sample the abundance of fruit grown and may I say the red dragon fruit is an improvement on the white. Our guide for the tour was a very pleasant girl named Gi Eun. Gi was informative friendly and a pleasure to spend time with. We especially like her performance during the water puppet show, Gi has a great grasp of the English language and made the whole experience a delight. The cooks at the village spoilt us to a sumptuous meal one we will remember for a long time to come. Congratulations to all.

“Village 2D/1N”

We stopped in overnight after 3D/2N in Halong Bay on Princess II.

The food and accommodations (villa not home-stay) were spot on. No complaints at all and I would happily stay again on those two factors plus the cycling.

We enjoyed the village tour overall but it could have been considerably better, or adding in another option would make it considerably better for some. The parts that we enjoyed the most were the cycling around the village and the countryside. The majority of the other activities were a little more of a miss: i. The visit to the house for tea. It was okay but would have been better to have toured the inside first and then had the tea and chat outside afterwards. ii. The market. We live in Asia so this was underwhelming and that said, it would have still been underwhelming. iii. Rice thing. Touristy and prolonged. iv. Fishing. This was fun. v. Making the brooms. Our group elected to skip the activity. vi. Puppet show. They served beer. The activities overall felt more like tour bus tourism.

We would like to have had more organized cycling time around the village and countryside with some short stops of interest (like when we stopped to drink homemade rice wine in someone’s yard during the morning cycle) rather than cycling to activities. Just us though and I am sure that others would find the activities of more interest than we did.

“favorite experience during out Hanoi, Vietnam stay”

fansfs

My family and cousin did the 1 day Yen Duc village tour and had a wonderful experience. We asked our two young daughters what was their favorite experience during our 1 week stay in the Hanoi-Halong Bay area and they both mentioned it was the bike ride through the farm village with a slight rain. We also immensely enjoyed the dinner they prepared for us at the end which was one of the best culinary experiences we had in Vietnam.

“An authentic Vietnamese experience”

autheners

We did a one day tour of Yen Duc village and it was just a wonderful experience. Our tour guide Na was very warm and welcoming and she spoke very good English. She also lived in the village. Na was incredibly informative sharing details of everyday village life and also talking about how the war impacted on the village. I felt like this was an authentic Vietnamese experience rather than a scripted and orchestrated tour.
We met a number of the villagers who we were able to communicate with thanks to the assistance of Na. The highlight of this tour was a meal that was prepared for us in one of the villager’s home. The food was incredible and it felt more like we’d been invited around for dinner at a friend’s house rather than actually being on a tour.

I truly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to others.

“Delightful experience touring with Gi and staying at Mr. San’s homestay”

daggg

We had a great time with Gi, our tour guide! We rode bikes around the village and got to interact with some locals and learn about the life of Vietnamese farmers. Also really enjoyed staying with Mr. San at his home. We enjoyed homemade Vietnamese food and even got to meet his wife, who happened to be visiting from far away.
